YOLKO Breakfast Cafe is a cloud kitchen* inside the Oakland Food Hall in East Oakland. As the name suggests, it's a restaurant that serves a breakfast menu all day. On a Saturday morning I was flipping thru my five food delivery apps looking for new listings. That's when I saw the DoorDash (DD) promo for YOLKO....."40%-Off on orders $10+." I ordered the "Sausage, Egg, Cheese sandwich on a Brioche Bun" and a Belgian Waffle. The waffle wasn't bad. It's about 7" wide and thick. Very similar to the waffles they served as street snacks in Germany when I was serving overseas in the US Army. But as a takeout food, it needed to be zapped in the microwave to get it hot again. But it was still crispy along the edges and soft on the center. Served with a small pat of butter and syrup. The Sausage, Egg, Cheese sandwich was really good. Probably because it was tightly wrapped and taped together for takeout and delivery. Someone got it right. Breakfast sandwiches are best served for takeout.....wrapped up. The spicy sausage added some heat to the sandwich. The eggs and cheese gave it a creamy center. Good Sandwich! --------------------------------------------------- *What's a Cloud Kitchen?
